
Delphine Poussot, PWS, of Villanova, PA, was awarded signature status in PWS at the 24th Annual Juried show this year. She also received signature status in the Baltimore Watercolor Society and was part of the New Talent Show at the Rosenfeld Gallery in Philadelphia in July and a group show in the Galerie du sud in Atlanta in November.
Matilda Grech, PWS, of Port Jervis, NY, received the Johns Manship Award at the 107th Annual Catherine Lorrilard Wolfe Art Club in New York City. She also won the Da Vinci Materials Award at the 27th Annual International Exhibiton at Kent, CT.
Frank Webb, PWS, of Pittsubrgh, PA, was Juror of Selection and Awards for Kentucky Watercolor Society's Aquaventure in November. Frank also won Best of Show in the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society Aqueous Open 2003.
Joan Hambleton, PWS, of Williamsville, NY, was one of the artists selected for the Daniel Smith 2003-2004 Reference Catalog to illustrate the use of acrylic paints. Joan also won the Chick Chalk Memorial Award in the Buffalo Society of Artists 107th Annual Juried Catalog Exhibition and the St Cuthbert's Award in the PWS 24th Annual Juried Exhibition.
New PWS member, Alfred Pulcinella, of Millmont Park, PA was awarded Third Place out of 13,000 intries in the Artist's Magazine annual painting competition. His painting appeared in the December issue of the magazine.
Donald Patterson, PWS-sgg, of New Hope, PA, was accepted into the Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors and won the Adirondack Wilderness Award with the Rouse Gold Medallion. He was also in the Trinidad Fine Arts Exhibition (Merit Award), PWS 24th Exhitition. (Graham Award), Phillips Mill in New Hope (REalistic Landscape of Delaware Valley Award), and the Artist's Magazine Competition 2003 (Finalist in Landscape Category). He was juror for the New Jersey American Artists Professional League.
President of AWS, Janet Walsh, of Coopersburg, PA, won the Cynthia and Jerome Goodgal Memorial Award at the Catherine Lorrilard Wolfe Art Club Exhibition.
Julia Swartz, of Leola, PA, had a display of her new artwork at her 7th Annual Holiday Open House in Leola.
Long time PWS member, Jean Uhl Spicer, PWS-sgg, of Havertown, PA, received an Honorable Mention and Cash Award in the 24th PWS juried Exhibition and the Newman Gallery Cash Award for Excellence in Watercolor in the Philadelphia Watercolor Society Annual Exhibit.
Doris Davis-Glackin, PWS, of West Chester, PA, received the Franklin Mint Award for Excellence from the Philadelphia Watercolor Society in their 103rd International Juried Exhibition. Doris also had a painting selected for the Kentudky Watercolor Society's Aqueous USA 2003 Traveling Show Award and was selected for publication in the "Splash 8: Watercolor Discoveries."
Nancy Bush, of Moon Township, PA, was accepted into the 2003 Annual International Society of Experimental Artists (ISEA) exhibit at the Beverly Arts Center in Chicago and won a Merit AWard.
Gloria Baker, PWS, of Evnasville, IL, had paintings accepted into the Kentucky Watercolor Society 26th Annual Aqueous USA, Niagra Frontier Watercolor Society National Exhibition and is included in the "Who's Who in the World" , 21st Edition and "Who's Who in American Education" , 6th Edition.
Pat Kretchmer, of Elmira, NY, has been installed as the "Lead Mare" of the Artists of the Finger Lakes Watercolor Club at the Zonta House and the On the Square Watercolor Club at the Square Bean Cafe. She has been busy all summer and fall with workshops by the "table full".
Steven J. White, PWS, of Lansdale, PA, was part of a two man show at the Adirondacks Lakes Center for the Arts in Blue Mountain Lake, NY. He was also a finalist in The Artist's Magazine Annual competition (landscape category). Steven received First Place Award at the Lansdale Festival of the Arts at the Perkiomen Valley Art Center's membership show. He also won the Edgar A. Thompson Award at the 22nd Annual Evening and Afternoon of Art sponsored by the Hardcastle Gallery. He will participate in the Immaculata University Art and the Yellow Springs Art Shows this spring.
Jacqueline Mitchwell Smith, of Wernersville, PA, had two portrait paintings accepted by the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors, and Gravers -- Patron Her Majesty the Queen for their annual exhibition at Westminister Gallery in London, England. Three of her watercolors were accepted in the same Society of Washington, DC and took a second Place Award in Portraiture.
Ruth Senter, PWS, of West Grove, PA, is represented in a new book by Daphne Landis entitled, Speaking for Themselves, The Artists of Southeastern PA . The book showcases over 100 artists with reproductions of their work and statements by each.
New Candidate PWS member, Sarah Gersbach, of West Lawn, PA, will have a solo exhibit of her watercolors during February 1-27 at the Grandview Gallery in West Lawn. The opening reception will be held February 1, 2004 from 1:00 to 2:30 PM. The exhibit is entitled "Hidden Thoughts Revealed".
Debi Watson, PWS, of Lancaster, PA, has had works accepted in the Texas Watercolor Society 54th Exhibition (Daler-Rowney Award), Adirondacks Watercolor Society 2003 Exhibition (Gurdon Memorial Award), Rhode Island Watercolor Society 10th Watermedia, the Philadelphia Watercolor Society 103rd Works on Paper Exhibition, Kentucky Watercolor Society 26th National, and the PWS 24th International. Debi also won First Place Award at the Baltimore Watercolor Society Fall Membership Show.
Jean Dobie, PWS, of Berwyn, PA, was the sole juror for the Gold Coast Watercolor Society Juried Florida Experiments Watermedia Exhibition in Fort Lauderdale. This year, Jean has been named as the Invited Juror for the Jury of Selection for the American Watercolor Society Show in New York City, NY. She won the Florida Watercolor Society and the M. Graham & Co. Award at the Florida Watercolor Society 32nd Annual Exhibition in Orlando, FL.
Mel Stabin, PWS-sgg, of Park Ridge, NJ, received the PIP Printing Award at the North East Watercolor Society 27th Annual International Juried Exhibition and the Mildred Sands Kratz Award at the PWS 24th Annual International Exhibition. Mel will be featured in the Spring Issue of Watercolor Magic Magazine with an article he recently wrote on watercolor painting. Should be interesting.
